पुरस्कार ग्रहर्ण गर्दै साहित्यकार राई (सौजन्य: प्रकाश आङ्दाम्बे)

साहित्यप्रेमी भूटानी युवाहरूबाट गठित झकास समूहले वार्षिक रूपमा प्रदान गर्दै आएको यो वर्षको ‘झकास अन्तराष्ट्रिय पुरस्कार’ भारतीय साहित्यकार विमल राईलाई प्रदान गरेको छ ।

पुरस्कार गत आइतबार झापाको दमकमा आयोजना गरिएको एउटा कार्यक्रममाझ साहित्यकार गणेश रसिक, संगीतकार मणीकमल क्षेत्री र गीतकार एलपी जोसीबाट संयुक्त रूपमा साहित्यकार राईलाई प्रदान गरिएको हो ।

ताम्रपत्र र १६ हजार रूपैयाँको सो पुरस्कार सन् २०१० बाट झकास समूहले प्रदान गर्दै आएको छ । उक्त पुरस्कारबाट साहित्यकारहरू याम थुलुङ र प्रकाश आङ्दाम्वे क्रमश सन् २०१० र २०११ मा सम्मानित भइसकेका छन् ।
“तपाईहरूको माया मात्र भए पुग्छ, मलाई नगद रकमको कुनै आवश्यकता छैन,” भन्दै राईले आफूले पाएको १६ हजार रूपैयाँ सृजनशील कामका लागि झकास समूहलाई नै फिर्ता गरेका थिए ।

Bhutanese Artists of Georgia, an organization established in 2009 by the Bhutanese refugee artists and community volunteers had organized a Bhutanese Artists Live Concert 2011’ on the auspicious occasion of Dashain and Tihar at Clarkston Community Center on October 16, 2011.

According to the source the chief guest for the event was McKenzie Wren, director of Clarkston Community Center. The event started with the welcome tune comprised of Malshree and Duesi and Bhailo. Then, after the guests were welcomed the show started with paying homage by dedicating the song ‘Sambodhan Timilai’ to the known and unknown Bhutanese people whose lives are gone away from us on the time of struggle and to the people whose lives are taken away by the van accident in Georgia on March, 2011. The song was sung by Sudesh Rai and back vocal by Shiva Mapchan.

The main attraction of the concert was Karna Das, a very prominent singer, composer and songwriter of Nepali Music. He presented his very popular songs. Mahesh Thulung, a popular singer from Bhutanese Community sang his famous songs.  Various artists Pratap Magar, Shiva Mapchan, Kamal Rai  , Bhim Magar , Tika Rasaily and Pabitra Gurung sang various songs. The other two guest artists Dhan Gurung , singer of the then Euphoria band back in the refugee camp in Nepal and now from North Carolina presented Wari Jamuna in the track and Ram Dhimal, a new potential singer from Florida sang Premika in track. The Organization of Bhutanese Communities in America (OBCA) unveiled its three afore-announced projects amidst a function in Atlanta, GA on Sunday.

According yo Yam Kharel, the former chair of the organization, the projects included the releasing of the first volume of its quarterly magazine “Bhutan”, launching its website www.obcausa.org and inaugurating the Nepali feature movie “Suruwat” under the organization’s banner.

Kharel informed BNS that Manikala Basnet, the chief guest and Susan Pevlin, the special guest to the program unwrapped the “Bhutan” magazine announcing its official release.

Colored glossy papered, the 36-page magazine is said to have enclosed informative materials comprising news, views, articles and tips that are primarily focused to feed the Bhutanese in Diaspora.

Manoj Rai and Jidan Rai stand as the coordinator of the magazine while Ganga Ram Lamitarey and Bhakta Ghimirey are the Chief and acting editors respectively. Yam Kharel and Bhakti Bhandari hold the desk of editors of the magazine and Ishwori Mishra is the script editor. Dr. Govinda Raj Bhattaria (Nepal) and Prof. David Pemental (USA) assume the advisory team.

In the second segment of the program, Manoj Rai, Press and Publicity secretary of OBCA announced the official launching of the organization’s website. Expounding the customary movie inauguration ceremony, Chairman of OBCA, DJ Khaling, broke a coconut to set forth the official undertaking of the task of another project movie “Suruwat”. Bhutan Media Society said it distributed Rs 1,162,676 (equivalent US $ 16,610) that it collected through the online donation drive to fire victims of Goldhap and Sanischare refugee camps of Jhapa and Morang districts on May 10-12.
